Vaginal yeast infections are common amongst women, but their symptoms can be difficult to spot as they can be caused by many other things. This means that if you have the symptoms of a yeast infection you should always see a doctor as the symptoms may be being caused by something different or more serious in some cases. In this article I’ll be going through some of the more common yeast infections symptoms, although they may vary from patient to patient and some people may have all, some or none of these symptoms.
The most common symptoms of a yeast infection is itching the the vulva and vaginal area.
As well as itching there is often a burning sensation in the vaginal area amongst women who have a yeast infection
The vaginal area will often be sore or painful – especially during intercourse.
Painful urination
There is also sometimes a discharge from the vagina. The discharge is odorless and a white thick texture
There may also be pain in the vulva
If you treat your infection but then the problem returns more than 3 or 4 times you have a recurrent problem. These may need a different course of action to treat as they are often caused by an underlying problem.
As you can see, the majority of the symptoms are -quite general and could be caused by many different other problems. This is why you should always visit the Doctor if you are in any doubt as to whether you have a yeast infection or not, just to be on the safe side.
