At some stage in their lives many women will have to deal with the affects of a yeast infection caused by the increased production of the Candida fungus in their bodies. Although there are many prescription and over the counter medications one can use to treat yeast infections they generally deal with the symptoms rather than the underlying causes.
In this article we offer some tips that will not only help to treat the burning and itching symptoms associated with this infection but the underlying causes as well.
Tip 1 – If you are suffering from a vaginal yeast infection then it is important to clean your underwear completely. If you soak them in bleach before then washing with unscented soap can help to kill a large amount of the Candida fungus that is causing the infection. Plus also ironing the underwear before wearing is another great way of helping to kill off even more of the fungus that has caused the infection.
Tip 2 – It is important that whilst you are suffering from a yeast infection that the area affected is kept dry and clean.
It is important to remember that the Candida Fungus thrives in environments that are moist and warm. If you can wear clothing that is loose as this will allow more air to circulate around the area infected and reduce the amount of sweat your body produces.
Also if you can wear cotton clothing as this absorbs moisture better so you will find that you remain dryer for longer. If your infection is of the vaginal kind at night it is a good idea to sleep with no underwear on as this will allow plenty of fresh air to circulate around this area ensuring that it remains cool and dry throughout the night.
